How to declutter your house and clear your mind – in 4 steps
If you too want to keep a house tidy and organized in order to achieve that feeling of lasting peace and happiness, try the Konmari Method. Marie Kondo, also known as Konmari, is an organizational consultant, author of ‘The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up” which she sold 6.5 million copies. Her goal? Organizing the world – one room at a time. She has developed a method, the KonMari method which is not only to tidy up physically but to organize our life, to declutter our mind and to bring joy to us. Here are the main principles of this method which will allow you to reorganize your life.
The Konmari method in 4 steps:
1. Sort by category starting with clothes, then books, papers, miscellaneous (dishes, cosmetics, etc.) and sentimental items
2. Make a pile of all the objects of a category in one place
3. Ask yourself for each object if you feel the joy of owning it
4. Keep the objects that bring us joy and give or throw away the rest
So many clothing stores, decorations, books exist now that we buy all the time. But eventually, these things start to accumulate, and we no longer find a place to properly store our clothes, the piles of books multiply, papers are scattered, cosmetics are everywhere and we start to feel a lack of space and the need to see more clearly.
The best way to find out what we really need is to get rid of what we don’t need. Marie Kondo
