Tidying up can be learned and if it’s not an activity you usually do, you will probably have a hard time tidying up and organizing your things. To successfully tidy up at home, you have to be able to do it all at once. You will experience this moment as a somewhat special event or a renewal. It’s going to have such an impact that you’re going to want to keep your living space that way.
When you put away, try to do it perfectly. We generally feel more comfortable in an organized and clean room. Also, avoid storing your things as this does not solve the clutter problem.
It can sometimes be difficult to get rid of things you don’t know you have… and you might have a hard time deciding whether or not to keep these items. The easiest way is to work by category: clothes, books, papers, dishes, beauty treatments, etc. and make a pile of each category. You can then assess how many times you have the same type of item and which ones can be given or thrown away.

Sort out what you keep and throw away first
Before you start tidying up, close your eyes for a moment and visualize your clean house. Think about your ideal living space, what it would look like, and your resulting lifestyle. For example, imagine you are walking into a house with a lot of space, the place is minimalist but cozy and it feels good. The family can sit in the living room and everyone has room in the house for their activities. Start tidying up early in the morning to give yourself time to get the job done.
Now go on to throw away the things that you don’t like or don’t use anymore or that don’t make you happy. Make a pile of what you keep and what you give or throw away. Look at the objects one by one, and go through each of those things, asking yourself if this brings joy to you. If so, keep it, if not, get rid of this item. Take the time to carefully examine and think through your decision for each item.

This first sorting must be done by category and not by part. So, spread all your clothes on the floor to begin with, then you will do the same with your books and papers. Gathering all of your stuff from one category in one place also shows you how many things you actually own.
Tidying can be likened to meditation. It helps to clear your mind. This allows you to converse with yourself and help suppress noise. It is always a way to remember happy moments.

Sorting by category works like magic
Here is the order recommended by Marie Kondo to sort belongings: Clothing -> Books -> Papers -> Miscellaneous (dishes, beauty products, etc.) -> Souvenirs
Going from the simpler to the more difficult is the best thing to do, because by the time you reach for the trickier items to sort out, your tidying skills and decision making on what to keep will be sharper.
For clothes you can follow this order: Tops -> Bottoms -> Clothes to hang -> Socks -> Underwear -> Bags -> Accessories -> Clothing specific to an event -> Shoes

And of course, the same applies to your office! Only the type of items will change.
